Mission

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa Education Fund was created as a 501(c)(3) entity to finance educational projects of the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa. Monies given to the Education Fund are used only for public education; monies given to the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa may be used for office expenses, overhead, etc. as well as for education. Since a large share of the office activities are concerned with educating the public, the Education Fund pays for a fraction of office expenses. Special projects, such as Voter Guides, the Directory of Governmental Officials, and public forum expenditures, are funded by requests from the acting committee chairs to the Education Fund Board of Trustees.

The LWVMT is a 501(c)4 organization. All donations to the LWVMT are non-tax deductible.

**NOTE: Donations to the LWVMT Education Fund MUST be made payable to the LWVMT Education Fund for the donation to be tax deductible!**
